i am in love with burlap EVEN on my christmas tree

i AM  posting about christmas half way thru january. this blogging gig is a lot more time consuming than i imagined. so bear with me, as my postings might be a few seasons behind and months later...but well worth the wait:0

this christmas we finally had a REAL tree!! in our house in phoenix there was just never enough room with our furniture and all the kids toys so i just had a very slender fake tree..but cute of course!! i am really into burlap these days, therefore my tree was too! i purchased a couple yards of burlap in the natural and red color and went to town making all the bows and even made ornaments! i am normally not this crafty and for the first time tried sewing with yarn actually first time sewing really sewing. with the help of all the online ideas and my lindsay i think it turned out splendid!!

O christmas tree, O christmas tree

believe it..i made it!!
i only wish i had more time to make more fun stuff. maybe that should be my new years wish!!

i had to "stage" my christmas tree because One: the boys would open up all the presents and Two: they all went to phoenix the week before christmas.

i placed the tree and stand in a big galvanized bucket..looked good and kept it more secure from a curious toddler!!

my "twig" tree made from branches from the tree in our front yard

  2. I love it too! Is that a burlap garland, too? How did you get it to fray so well? It is such a cool look. Btw, where on earth do you find your wrapping paper? It's so cute!

  3. thank you thank you! i purchased the gift wrap and burlap by the yard all at hobby lobby!! 50% off too! i cut all the burlap into long pieces and pulled at the strands to get that fray look. then tied them together to creat a garland. was super easy just time consuming and messy.

soon shannon i will give more pictures of the house..i have a lot of painting to do and still unpacking!! there is never enough time in the day!
