JuNk N' peoNieS

i pretty much live for junking these days... i tell the hub, "i want nothing" for mother's because i rather find some spectacular goods out antiquing..and the other weekend i did GooD up in amarillo, texas. i get so much satisfaction out of old things..call me crazy honey, but no store bought gift can make me more happy than a beat up ol'object!!
tri-pod floor lamp that was only $15 buckaroos from a funky thrift shop in canyon, texas. very similar to the restoration hardware and pottery barn lamps. i'll take it!! but don't charge extra with the dust on it!! a little dirt don't hurt!!

origninal vintage barn house enamel light..HOLY SMOKES! notice i underlined enamel folks!!!  this baby is going up in the kitchen. this was an amazing find for me because i adore old barn like fixtures from http://www.barnlightelectric.com/ ....and i found the real deal for only $30 buckaroos!!

i have had my eye on this old metal sign since the first time i stepped foot into this store..happy mother's day to me!!

more treaures and bigger objects(not pictured) that had to be picked up later....i will show you later my friend.
all the while..something big and grand was about to bloom in my very own yard!!

a wonderful surprise...PEONIES blooming the week of mother's day ! bless the women who planted my MOST FAVORITE flower!! i  have 4 blooming peonies bushes in my backyard i wasn't even aware that existed until a few days ago when they started opening up.

"The traditional floral symbol of China, the state flower of Indiana, and the 12th wedding anniversary flower, peonies are known as the flower of riches and honor.  With their lush, full, rounded bloom, peonies embody romance and prosperity and are regarded as an omen of good fortune and a happy marriage. " sounds good to me!!
found at this webite http://www.teleflora.com

i had peonies in my wedding bouquet by the way. so having them in my backyard is just beyond words!

i had some buttermilk left over from the yummy Orange Marmalade Muffins (a pioneer women recipe...dang that women can cook, bake, make me laugh and cry...i just love her to pieces) i baked..cause i do like to bake. i didn't want to waste my buttermilk so last night we had buttermilk biscuits and tonight i think i may whip up some Skillet Cornbread also made with buttermilk and baked in a skillet just like the biscuits!!. these biscuits are so easy even a 2 year old could do it..not really but mine helped out with the mixing.

meet MY husband..the dairy farmer

there once was a man..there IS a man and he IS no ordinary man he is MY husband, MY best friend, MY very own dairy farmer. he wasn't always a dairy farmer you see but one day long ago he fell in love with a farmer's daughter (that would be me!!!!) and without even knowing it at the time he too would be part of the farm. the new to be dairy farmer and his family packed up their whole life to start a new life down on the farm. now here is MY husband, the dairy farmer in his first leading role starring as himself, telling the story about our family operation and how it works. parts of this make me all teary eyed and emotional because i know every word MY husband, MY dairy farmer is saying is from the bottom of his heart. the wife of this dairy farmer couldn't be any more happier than a fly on cow poop!!

grab an ice cold glass of MILK and enjoy the show!!

The American Dairy is the first program dedicated solely to telling the story of America’s dairy farmers, the dairy industry and the journey of milk, from farm to fridge. Similar to its successful counterpart, The American Rancher, which helps to tell the story of America’s cattle ranchers, The American Dairy will work with producers from all across the country to share their stories and educate America on the importance of dairy.
The United States is home to over 60,000 dairy farm families producing almost 177 billion pounds of milk annually.
From smaller farms that have been in the family for generations to new dairy’s that are utilizing modernized milking techniques, all are proud to call themselves The American Dairy. With less than 2 percent of the U.S. population involved in farming today, many people don’t have the opportunity to visit a dairy farm. Add the fact that most people are three to four generations removed from the farm, and a pretty big information gap has evolved. American Dairy’s goal is to bridge that communication gap and sort the fact from fiction. The American Dairy industry is more than just milk. Consumer need to hear the story of working hard every day to bring wholesome dairy products. The American Dairy will share the good news covering topics from consumer nutrition to the environment and technology.

OuR EaSteR eGg-StrAvAgAnZA..part one

we''all came back to arizona to celebrate easter weekend with all of our friends and family! the weather was simply perfect and some well needed retail therapy and sushi made the trip well worth it.

we stayed our first night with jan and eric (gg &ge) and had easter brunch followed with an easter egg hunt for the boys. all the boys loved running and chasing each other with the occasional hug!! even max was trying to keep up with nathan and donovan! watching them all together is just pure bliss in the eyes of a mom..can't imagine how wonderful it feels as a proud grandparent.

happy cousins together again

daddy-o and maxxer-s

FINALLY max is walking. he definitely took his time and was satisfied crawling for the longest time and a few weeks before easter weekend he took off on his own 2 feet.  i have mixed feelings about this. for one, he is still my baby and two he can get into more trouble!

easter egg hunt time

i got one
donovan and nathan sporting the converse

kids really do pick up on the craziest things..this is exactly how i carry my handbags! i just love him!!

a very random day

we had a very random day today and i just wanted to share it with you:)
it all started out with nathan and mimi making cookies together at the dairy!! how could i complain since i love me some cookie dough at any given moment!

 mix it baby!

mini baker & mimi

o then "the NEW loader" arrived looking all spiffy and fresh off the tractor lot.

old loader...feeling old. let's not say anything about being traded in.

new tractor feeling proud..old tractor feeling old again next to this young'n.
by-the-way..even new tractor's have that "new car" smell. i took in a big whiff and wanted to sit in that thing all day. but it serves a purpose and was off to work in a jiffy. i had other things on my agenda anyway..going to plainview, texas with my momma and the boys to go antiquing.

on our way back from some junking saw this cute bbq place in earth, texas.

so we stopped took some pictures and got us some grub to take home to the dairy men..our husbands.

o texas..you have stole my heart!!!

and what do you know..a CIRCUS was in town. had to go!

my momma & the boys

this was more like a "little" top tent

 inside the "little" top

not much to tell about the actual circus..but it was fun to take the boys. but it was all worth it for this picture below!!!

BROTHERS FOREVER!!!

YES..i am aware of max's mullet.. so just go with it, ok. he has NEVER had a haircut and as soon as the top catches up with the bottom it will be looking much better. so maybe i am a hippie at heart and both my boys have hair that is out of control and they are mistaken for girls often but i just love the long curly hair look.

working on my LONG Easter post..so stay tuned!
